Characteristic

3. The third overload protection is activated in case

the OLP pin voltage exceeds 1.5 V threshold. This

can happen during secondary side short circuit

event or in case the adjusted frequency shift is not

sufficient to limit primary current or the OCP

network on RT pin fails (like open Soft Start pin

event). The IC then stops operation after 1 ms

delay to overcome excessive overloading of the

power stage components. Both controller version

i.e. NCP1398B and also NCP1398C latch fully off

and keep the latched state until the VCC drops

down below VCC reset level.
